Store hosting, explained
The questions merchants ask before moving a shop that’s already taking money.
Why does a shop need different hosting from a normal site?
Because most of a shop can’t be cached. A blog serves the same HTML to everyone, so a page cache makes it fast. A shop’s cart, checkout and account pages are different for every visitor and have to be generated live, hitting PHP and the database every time. Hosting benchmarked on cached pages looks excellent right up until someone tries to buy something.
Will my store stay up on a sale day?
Every plan carries burst capacity above its baseline for short peaks, and you can book a scheduled uplift ahead of a launch or campaign at no extra cost. Tell us the date and we size for it in advance. That’s more reliable than autoscaling reacting after the traffic has already arrived.
Does this make my store PCI compliant?
No, and be sceptical of any host that says otherwise. We provide PCI-ready infrastructure and can supply an Attestation of Compliance covering the hosting layer, but PCI DSS applies to your entire environment: your application, your payment integration and your staff processes. The good news is that if you use a hosted payment page or iframe so card numbers never touch your server, you almost certainly qualify for the simplest self-assessment questionnaire.
Which platforms do you support?
WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopware and OpenCart install in one click with cache rules and cron already configured for how each behaves. Magento and Adobe Commerce are resource-hungry enough that we put them on VPS or dedicated hardware rather than pretend they fit a shared tier.
Can you migrate my existing shop?
Yes, free on every plan. Store migrations are handled more carefully than ordinary sites: we stage the shop, verify checkout end to end with a test order, then schedule the cutover for your quietest hour.
What happens to orders placed during the migration?
Nothing is lost. We take a final database sync immediately before the DNS switch, so any orders placed on the old host while DNS propagates are carried across. This is the single most common way shop migrations go wrong elsewhere, which is why we do the sync last rather than first.
Do you take a percentage of my sales?
No. You pay the monthly plan fee and nothing else, with no transaction fee and no revenue share. Your payment provider will take their own processing fee, which is between you and them.
Should I use this or plain WordPress hosting for WooCommerce?
