Performance
Steal time is the number that matters on a VPS. It measures how long your CPU sat waiting because the hypervisor was busy serving somebody else. We allocate cores rather than selling burst credits against a shared pool, so the figure stays near zero instead of spiking whenever the machine gets busy.

The questions worth answering before you take root on someone else's hardware.
A virtual private server is a slice of a physical machine that behaves like its own server, with dedicated vCPU, RAM and NVMe that nobody else can use. On shared hosting you get an account on a server someone else configures; on a VPS you get the whole operating system and a root password. The trade-off is that you're now responsible for keeping it patched.
Yes, on every plan, from the moment the server finishes booting. Install any package, compile from source, tune kernel parameters, run whatever daemons you like. We don't inspect or restrict what runs inside your VPS beyond our acceptable use policy.
Ubuntu LTS, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, CentOS Stream and Fedora Server ship as one-click images. You can reinstall to a different distribution from the panel at any time. Reinstalling wipes the disk, so take a snapshot first if you need what is on there.
Unmanaged by default, which is what keeps the price where it is. We look after the hypervisor, network, storage and physical hardware; you look after the operating system and everything above it: updates, firewall, application stack, and backups of your own data. If you'd rather not, managed patching and monitoring is available as a paid add-on.
CPU and memory scale up or down from the panel with a short reboot, and billing follows hourly rather than locking you to the larger size for a month. Disk can be increased at any time but never shrunk afterwards, so grow it in steps rather than all at once.
Nightly snapshots are included on every plan and stored off-server, with retention from 7 to 60 days depending on tier. You can also take a manual snapshot before a risky change. Snapshots are disaster recovery, not a substitute for application-level backups of your own data.
Every VPS has an out-of-band console in the panel that connects below the network layer, so it still works when SSH doesn't. A bad firewall rule or a broken sshd config is recoverable without opening a support ticket. If the disk itself won't boot, we can attach a rescue image.
When you consistently need more than 8 cores or 24 GB, when compliance requires single-tenant hardware, or when your workload is disk-bound enough that you want the whole NVMe array. Migration from VPS 8 to dedicated hardware is handled by our team.
